Context & Challenge:
Reed is the UK’s most established finance & accountancy recruitment agency, matching businesses and professionals since 1960. Known for their high quality events programming, Reed decided they wanted to expand their event line-up to include more wide-ranging themes. The team decided to approach Alastair Campbell, former director of communications and strategy to Tony Blair, to give a talk on leadership based on his book about winners and how they succeed. The goal? Draw in as wide an audience as possible and create buzz around this exciting new event.The Approach
Girl About Social set about inviting 190 accountancy & finance clients to the Q&A and book reading, and coordinated an email engagement campaign to ensure high attendance in the run up to the event. She also implemented a targeted social media campaign before, during, and after the campaign to maximise ROI and continue conversations at every opportunity. This included implementing an event specific hashtag, #leadershiptalk, to encourage live-tweeting during & after the event, and working with a videographer to create a post-event video series to keep engagement high.
